2018-19 Season Fixtures
The 2018 Torbay Chess League Autumn Council Meeting was held on Wednesday 19th September at TBS. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Newton Abbot, Plymouth, South Hams, TBGS and Teignmouth clubs.
This season Plymouth decided not to enter teams into Division 1 or 2, and there is no representation in the Torbay Leagues from Torbay or Brixham. This left us with the situation that only South Hams and Newton Abbot wished to field a team in Division 1, making the division non-viable. Accordingly it was decided, for this season only, to merge Division 1 and Division 2 to create a "Premier League", to be contested between Newton Abbot (entering two teams of approximately equal playing strength), South Hams and Teignmouth.
This means that the clubs entering this season's competitions are as follows.
|Premier||Div 3||Div 4||Knockout||Rapidplay|
|Newton Abbot||✔ (2)||✔||✔||✔||✔|
This season, fixtures and results are being recorded using the ECF League Management System (LMS). This means that as soon as a match result has been entered, the result, league tables, player statistics etc. will be online immediately. If you go to the "Season 2018‑19" page on this website, you will find a link to Torbay League section of the LMS, where Ben Wilkinson has already entered the fixtures that were arranged at the Autumn Council Meeting.
By popular request, this website incorporates a facility which has been available for several years on the South Hams club website, and has been very poplar - namely the ability to submit your games to a games database, and to view, analyse and comment on the games that have been submitted. There is a video showing how to submit your games here.
In order to submit games and comments, you will need to log in to this website with your user name and password. To request a user name and password, please go to this page. Once you have logged in, there are additional pages on this website that will become visible, for example minutes of AGMs and ACMs.
The 2018-19 season is underway. Enjoy!
