Search the Games Database

You can search the Games Database using several search criteria. The search will be narrowed down to match all the criteria that you specify. If you leave a criterion blank, the search will not be narrowed down by that criterion. For player and competition names

• upper and lower case letters are treated as the same
• games will be found if the text that you enter is found anywhere in the name concerned, for example "ilkins" would find games involving "Wilkinson".

Player 1 Name Either White or Black Contains White Contains Black Contains

You can enter one or two player names, and you can specify whether you are looking for a given player playing white, black or either. If you specify two player names, the search will be limited to games between the two named. Uppercase and lowercase letters are not distinguished.

Competition Name Contains For example, entering "tcl" will limit the search to games where the competion name contains the letters "tcl", or entering "torbay congress" will limit the search to games where the competiton name includes the phrase "Torbay Congress". Uppercase and lowercase letters are not distinguished.

Opening Begins To narrow the search to games with a particular opening, you can enter some opening moves here, e.g. 1. e4 e5 2.f4 exf5. You can enter the moves with or without blanks after the move number - it doesn't matter.
